Not quite! I've sold a few books (thanks to all of my fabulous friends and family who are supporting me), and it's fabulously cool to see my book listed on Amazon. But I've got a lot of work to do, and it's all new to me.
Today I'm setting up my Goodreads page -- when that's up, I'll let you know. That's the best place for friends and family to post reviews and comments. And I desperately need reviews and comments!
Toward that end, I'm beginning to solicit reviews from Amazon reviewers who like YA fiction. This is a tedious process -- I have to go through scores of potential reviewers, check out their profile pages, and contact them in a way that won't make them immediately delete the email. I've been an active Amazon reviewer for quite a while now and I get about 10-15 solicitations each day from writers (and companies) wanting me to review their books or products. So I know how hard this process is.
I'm also debating a few of Amazon's new writer programs, which might help promote the book. These programs might be more effective once I've got a few more titles ready to go. And it won't be long before that happens. I'm actively working on the other four books, and I hope to have two more ready to go by early next month.
So this "work in progress" of mine is on track, if a little slow out of the gate. Is this fun, or what?
Today is also my 37th wedding anniversary, so I'm going to buy a bottle of champagne. I figure I've got a lot to celebrate -- 37 years with Den and a book for sale on Amazon! Who would have guessed this would ever happen? Certainly not me!
More later -- stay tuned.
