Beautiful Lies has been up on Amazon for about a
week now – copies aren’t exactly flying off the shelf,
but I’ve gotten a lot of very positive feedback. It’s
always wonderful when people tell you they loved your
book – and when they recommend it to their friends
and book clubs!
And speaking of book clubs, I got a nice surprise this
week was when one of my readers let me know how
much fun her book club had discussing Finding Erin
Campbell last month. She wrote, “We spent most of
two hours talking about all the critical issues in the
book - and of course, it reminded us of our own
children and - well, everyone's children. You packed so
much that's significant and relevant in that slim riveting little volume.” What a great email!
And on top of that, a few of my Facebook friends have been helping me spread the word about Beautiful Lies and Erin by sharing my postings and recommending my books to their own friends. It’s very special when someone posts, “You need to read these books!” That’s really, really special.
But what made this week really crazy fabulous was the email I got on Tuesday letting me know that Finding Erin Campbell had been selected to receive a B.R.A.G. Medallion®. In case you’re not familiar with the B.R.A.G. website (I wasn’t, before I started marketing Erin), it’s a really fabulous resource for indie and self-published writers looking to promote their books. Writers (like me) can submit their books, and the B.R.A.G. team then decides which ones are worthy of the Medallion, which identifies self-published works of particular merit. According to the website, only 10% of books submitted are awarded the Medallion, so it’s a very big honor that Erin made it.
I’m expecting Erin to be featured on the B.R.A.G. website on December 1st (or shortly thereafter). And I’m really hoping it helps get the word out about Erin, and about Beautiful Lies. I’ll let you know when I know more.
But yes, it’s been a crazy fabulous week!
